Election Update: Vijay’s Party Surges Ahead in TN, BJP Leads Bengal as Close Fight Continues

Early election trends have delivered dramatic developments across Tamil Nadu and West Bengal, with tight contests and unexpected shifts shaping the political narrative. In Tamil Nadu, the political landscape appears to be undergoing a major transformation as DMK and the emerging Vijay-led political outfit are locked in a neck-and-neck battle. Both sides are currently hovering around 45–46 seats, with Vijay’s party slightly ahead in early trends, marking a significant breakthrough for a new political force in the state. This rise suggests a potential shift in Tamil Nadu’s traditional two-party dominance, with the Vijay-led platform emerging as a strong alternative. Meanwhile, the AIADMK is trailing in third position, indicating a reshaping of the state’s political equation. Analysts note that if these trends continue, Tamil Nadu could be witnessing the emergence of a new multi-polar contest. In West Bengal, the contest between the Bharatiya Janata Party and the All India Trinamool Congress remains extremely close. BJP is currently ahead with around 120 seats, while TMC is trailing closely at around 110 seats. The gap, however, continues to fluctuate as counting progresses, keeping the outcome highly uncertain. Both parties are making gains and losses in different regions, with BJP performing strongly in North Bengal and TMC holding key urban pockets. The shifting numbers highlight the fluid nature of early counting trends, which are still largely based on postal ballots. Across both states, political observers emphasize that the situation remains highly dynamic. As EVM counting progresses, clearer patterns are expected to emerge, which could significantly alter the current leads and reshape the final outcome.
