Ram Charan’s rural sports action drama ‘Peddi’ continues to stay in the spotlight as it moves past major milestones at the global box office. The Buchi Babu Sana directorial has emerged as one of the year’s biggest Indian releases. Even though the movie is mostly receiving mixed reviews, ‘Peddi’ has reportedly crossed the Rs 400 crore gross mark worldwide.

OTT release buzz around ‘Peddi’

Reports suggest that ‘Peddi’ is likely to stream on Netflix soon after its theatrical run. As per Filmnagar buzz, the tentative OTT premiere date is being considered as July 2. The film is expected to release in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. However, some reports indicate a possible revised date of July 16. An official confirmation from Netflix or the makers is still awaited.

‘Peddi’ makers plan grand success event

Following the strong box office response, the makers are preparing a celebratory event in Hyderabad. The function is expected to take place at Shilpa Kala Vedika on June 23 at 6 pm.Meanwhile, ‘Peddi’ continued its theatrical run into its third week with a predictable weekday slowdown. Sacnilk reports suggest that the film earned Rs 83 lakh net in India on its 19th day. This marks a steep decline compared to Sunday’s Rs 2.82 crore collection, showing a 70.6 percent drop in daily earnings.The film was screened across 1,734 shows on Monday. ‘Peddi’ recorded an overall occupancy of 18.27 percent on Day 19. With this, the film’s total India net collection has reached Rs 235.10 crore after 19 days in theatres.Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the sports action drama features Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead, with music composed by AR Rahman. On the other hand, ‘Peddi’ is also facing competition from Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s ‘Maa Into Bangaram’.
