A major tragedy has been reported from Mehrauli, Delhi, where a five-storey building collapsed following heavy storm and strong winds. The incident occurred on Saturday evening around 7:45 PM in the Saidulajab area, triggering panic and large-scale rescue operations. According to officials, two people have died, while 11 injured victims have been admitted to AIIMS, and at least nine people have been safely rescued from the debris. Teams from NDRF, DDMA, Delhi Police, Fire Department, and other agencies are continuing intensive rescue efforts at the site. The area has been turned into a high-alert zone as search operations continue for possible remaining trapped victims. Eyewitnesses described chaos as the structure suddenly collapsed, reportedly a commercial building. Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta visited the site and assured strict action against illegal constructions and responsible officials, stating that similar structures across the city will be investigated and acted upon to prevent future accidents.
