Billionaire Elon Musk is back again on X with another controversial opinion, this time about two of the most vital and hot topics of American democracy, immigration and elections. The 54-year-old raised his voice against the immigration policies, claiming they are being used to win elections and undermine democracy by the left. In a post shared on X (Formerly Twitter) on Saturday, he claimed that “fraudulent government programs” are being used by the “radical left” to import and retain numerous legal and illegal immigrants to win elections and turn America into a single-party state.
He shared the example of Ilhan Omar, a Minnesota representative, who originally hails from Somalia. He dubbed Omar’s election as an instance of the alleged manipulation, attributing her success to the Somali voting bloc in a state which historically had no Somali population. He also claimed the same is happening in other countries like Europe, the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Musk warned the citizens about the misuse of their tax money and shared that “if this is not reversed, your vote will mean nothing.” The tech giant’s comment has arrived at a time when immigration and related policies like H-1B are being hotly debated in the country. His allegation that these policies are being used to manipulate elections and political gains adds fuel to the burning fire. During a time when the role of immigration in Western democracies is at a critical point, his opinion can influence millions who follow him on various social media platforms and can have a significant impact on public discourse.
