'Gunman described as while male': Who was Dallas sniper? What was his motive?

Heavy police presence off I-35E in northwest Dallas after shooting at an ICE facility.

The Dallas sniper who killed two immigrants held at an ICE facility early Wednesday was not identified yet but was described as a “white male”. The sniper shot from a rooftop and then killed self. The shooting took place as agents led into the US ICE office just before 7 am. The shooter opened fire while the detainees were being transferred and the portcullis to the facility was open, Fox News reported, citing authorities.

What was the gunman’s motive?

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem said while the law enforcement does not know the motive of the shooter, ICE has been facing unprecedented violence in recent weeks. “There was a shooting this morning at the Dallas @ICEgov Field Office. Details are still emerging but we can confirm there were multiple injuries and fatalities. The shooter is deceased by a self-inflicted gun shot wound. While we don’t know motive yet, we know that our ICE law enforcement is facing unprecedented violence against them. It must stop. Please pray for the victims and their families,” Noem posted. Vice President JD Vance condemned the increased attacks on law enforcement. “The obsessive attack on law enforcement, particularly ICE, must stop,” Vance wrote. “I’m praying for everyone hurt in this attack and for their families.” FBI deputy director Dan Bongino said the agency is fully engaged with the state and the federal law enforcement partners at the crime scene in Dallas.Senators Ted Cruz and John Cornyn issued public statements expressing support for victims and praised first responders. Cruz said his team is “closely monitoring the situation” and offered prayers for those injured. Cornyn called the incident “horrific” and confirmed his staff is in contact with federal and local officials to ensure resources are deployed for the investigation.”Horrific. While law enforcement investigates, I am keeping everyone impacted in my prayers. My staff have been in touch with federal & local officials in Dallas, and we will make sure all resources are brought to bear in the investigation. Thank you to all first responders who rushed to the scene,” John Cornyn posted. The attack took place at the same ICE field office which recently received a bomb threat. Cops will be investigating if the threat was linked to today’s shooting. The DHS confirmed that the site is not a detention center but a field office.
