Freeze all immigration until…: US Congressman Chip Roy attacks Sharia Law, says he will bring new bill amid H-1B row

Freeze all immigration until...: US Congressman Chip Roy attacks Sharia Law, says he will bring new bill amid H-1B row

Republican Congressman Chip Roy announces a new bill to freeze all immigration and questioned why US should import people who adhere to Sharia.

Republican Congressman Chip Roy said he has a bill proposing the freezing of all immigration until the US achieves certain objectives, like reforms in the system, which he will introduce soon — amid fresh H-1B controversy. The controversy stemmed from President Donald Trump’s statement that America needs certain talents from outside which triggered a major row. A few weeks ago, the Donald Trump administration imposed a whopping $100,000 fee on H-1B visa programs, making it difficult for American companies to hire foreign nationals. Trump’s latest statement is being seen as a softening of his stance, though the White House maintained that the crackdown on illegal immigration will continue. MAGA fault lines once again became evident as major MAGA activists condemned Trump’s statement and claimed that Trump implied a lack of talent in America. Some MAGA exponents defended what Trump said and asserted that there indeed is a lack of some specialized skills in America. “Why are we importing any human being that is adhering to Sharia law which is totally contrary to the Constitution. We can amend the bill but I am going to introduce a framework why don’t we just freeze immigration entirely until we sort this crap out. Until we figure out who’s here, why they’re here, how many Chinese communists, how many people who are Islamists who want to remake America, how many people are living on the public dole, living on welfare, going into the emergency room to get care, or in our education system getting taxpayer-funded education because the Supreme Court declared it so. That’ll actually be the name of the bill: The PAUSE Act,” he said.

Does America need H-1B?

President Trump said America needs foreign workers for some specialty occupations but his administration controlled damage and asserted that this does not contradict America First. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent finetuned Trump’s statement on H-1B and said overseas workers with skills should come to the US, work for a few years and then should go home.
