Election Results 2026
With 225,000+ electors from OBC (Kurmi-Mahato, Bagdi), SC, and tribal communities, Taldangra is a classic rural Bengal constituency with an agrarian economy.Voter concerns include irrigation and water scarcity, rural employment, MGNREGA implementation, road connectivity, healthcare, and delivery of housing and food security schemes. Adjacent to the Jangalmahal zone, the constituency had Left influence historically, transitioning to TMC post-2011 facing BJP competition post-2019. Turnout at 88.7per cent with high bipolar TMC-BJP polarization under Bishnupur Lok Sabha. In 2021, TMC’s Arup Chakraborty won by 12,377 votes (~6.2per cent of 199,668 total votes), a moderate-comfortable margin over BJP.A comfortably marginal TMC seat; the margin is sufficient but not commanding, making Taldangra watchable for 2026. Part of the mid-Bankura TMC cluster that helps balance BJP gains in the district; it contributes to TMC’s competitive positioning in Bankura. Go to Source
