In West Bengal’s Madarihat (ST) seat, BJP candidate Lakshman Limbu defeated TMC candidate Jayprakash Toppo by 40,910 votes. Limbu got 1,02,488 votes while Toppo got 61,578 votes.Madarihat (ST) is a Scheduled Tribe-reserved constituency in Alipurduar district of West Bengal, situated in the Dooars region and known for its tea gardens, forest areas, and proximity to key wildlife zones such as Jaldapara. In 2026, the candidates include Jayprakash Toppo of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), Lakshman Limbu of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Dr. Joy Prafulla Lakra of the Congress.In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Madarihat (ST) was won by Manoj Tigga of the BJP, who defeated his nearest rival from the TMC by a margin of approximately 34,000 votes.
