When Farah Khan revealed how Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Sanjay Dutt crashed Dharmendra's shot in 'Deewangi Deewangi' shoot on sets of 'Om Shanti Om'

The ‘Deewangi Deewangi’ song from 2007’s ‘Om Shanti Om’ remains one of the most iconic moments in Bollywood history, uniting more than 30 of the industry’s biggest stars in one frame. Years later, director-choreographer Farah Khan shared a heartwarming story from the shoot, revealing the immense respect Salman Khan had for the veteran actor, Dharmendra which led to one of the song’s most memorable, unplanned shots. Read on to know how this respect resulted in one of the song’s most memorable moments which was a completely unscripted shot featuring Dharmendra and joined spontaneously by Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Sanjay Dutt.

A four-hour wait for a legend

It is a well-known industry fact that Salman Khan often operates on his own schedule. However, Farah revealed in a 2020 interview with the Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA) that for Dharmendra, Salman was willing to wait.Farah shared, “Salman… waited for four hours in Shah Rukh’s van to watch Dharam ji’s shot. He wasn’t obligated to be there; he was simply that excited to see the veteran superstar perform.”

An unscripted, iconic moment

That excitement soon spilled onto the set. The shot where Dharmendra is dancing with Shah Rukh Khan and is suddenly joined by Salman Khan and Saif Ali Khan was completely unscripted. “That wasn’t planned,” Farah Khan explained. “They were standing behind the camera… and while Dharam ji was dancing, they just jumped into the shot.” She also recalled the hilarious confusion this caused Saif Ali Khan, who was caught off guard by Salman’s spontaneity. “If you see Saif, he doesn’t know what is happening. He’s like, ‘Kya ho raha hai?’” she laughed.The song also featured Sanjay Dutt, along with a galaxy of other stars including Rekha, Kajol, and Rani Mukerji.

Where are the ‘Deewangi Deewangi’ stars now?

Years later, all four of these superstars continue to shine. Dharmendra is set to appear in the highly anticipated war drama ‘Ikkis’, which tells the story of Param Vir Chakra recipient Arun Khetarpal, slated for release on December 25, 2025. The film marks the debut of Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson, Agastya Nanda.Salman Khan, meanwhile, is gearing up for his massive war film ‘Battle of Galwan’, scheduled for a June 2026 release. Sanjay Dutt, last seen in ‘Baaghi 4’, has a major fantasy thriller ‘The Raja Saab’ with Prabhas, set for a worldwide release in 2026. Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan is also set for a big 2026 release with ‘Haiwaan’, which reunites him with Akshay Kumar. Go to Source
