Vivek Oberoi recalls near-death car accident

Vivek Oberoi recalls near-death accident while shooting for ‘Road’, reveals how he survived: 'The rods had smashed the windshield'

Vivek Oberoi is all set to make audiences laugh again with his upcoming film, ‘Mastiii 4’, alongside Riteish Deshmukh and Aftab Shivdasani. But before the fun begins on the big screen, he opened up about a chilling moment from his past, near-death experience during the filming of his 2002 movie, ‘Road’, that could have ended his life.

Vivek Oberoi warned driver repeatedly about night travel

In a recent interview with Mashable, the ‘Company’ actor recalled the dangerous incident while travelling from Bikaner to Jaisalmer in Rajasthan. He said, “I was shooting in Rajasthan for ‘Road’. We were going from Bikaner to Jaisalmer. Beautiful roads, beautiful drive, but it was at night. I told the driver at least 15 to 20 times to drive slowly; ‘it is night, visibility is low, drive slowly.’ I was in the front seat, and after that incident, I haven’t sat in the front seat ever.”

Vivek Oberoi’s car almost hit by camel cart rods

Even with his repeated warnings, disaster struck. Vivek explained, “I reclined my seat and suddenly there was a huge crash, a massive sound. On the road, suddenly, a camel cart came, which was carrying rods. The rods had smashed the windshield, and if my seat had been straight, those rods would have gone into my body. I couldn’t get out of the car because the rods were above me. But I was unscathed. Almost died. After that, I decided not to travel at night. ”

Vivek Oberoi once took control from reckless driver

The ‘Saathiya’ actor also shared another frightening moment when he had to handle a reckless driver himself. He said, “Later, when I was with a driver, he did the same. He was speeding, so I told him to stop the car and use the washroom. I told him to get down and go to the washroom. I came on his side, took the key, and drove off without him.”

Actor returns with comedy film ‘Mastiii 4’

Vivek is now gearing up for the release of ‘Mastiii 4’. The film continues the popular Masti franchise, which began in 2004 with ‘Masti’. The series was followed by ‘Grand Masti’ (2013) and ‘Great Grand Masti’ (2016).‘Mastiii 4’ promises to bring back the fun, laughs, and chaos the franchise is known for. The film is set to release in theatres on November 21. Go to Source
