Thamma becomes 12th biggest Hindi hit of 2025

Ayushmann Khurrana’s ‘Thamma’ beats Sunny Deol’s ‘Jaat’ to become the 12th biggest Hindi hit of 2025

Ayushmann Khurrana’s ‘Thamma’ is a roaring success, surpassing Sunny Deol’s ‘Jaat’ to become the 12th biggest Hindi hit of 2025. The horror-comedy, co-starring Rashmika Mandanna, has already crossed Rs 90 crore in just six days. Despite initial Diwali dips, the film’s strong weekend performance has propelled it towards the Rs 100 crore milestone, with no major competition on the horizon.

Carrying ahead the success of Dream Girl 2, Ayushmann Khurrana’s latest film Thamma with Rashmika Mandanna, Paresh Rawal and Nawazuddin Siddiqui is continuing its smooth run at the box office. Within just 6 days the film has crossed the Rs 90 crore mark, its total collection now stands at Rs 91.70. With that it has become the 12 biggest Hindi hit of the year displacing Sunny Deol’s Jaat. Sunny Doel made a comeback to the big scene with the super success of Gadar 2 and followed it up with Jaat which went on to collect Rs 88.72 crore at the box office.Thamma released on the occasion of Diwali opened to a magnificent collection of Rs 24 crore, on day 2 the collection dipped a little to Rs 18.6 crore .On day 3 – the numbers fell to Rs 13 crore with day 4 clocking on only Rs 10 crore. This is the usual trend for Diwali releases. They open big but then witness drops as people are busy with festivities and spending time with family and friends. But on day 5 which was a Saturday the collections jumped to Rs 13.1 crore and on day 6 ( Sunday) the numbers stayed steady with Rs 13 crore collection. And with that the total collection of the film stands at Rs 91.70 crore and it is expected to cross the Rs 100 crore mark in the following couple of days. Thamma is part of the horror comedy universe which already has titles like Stree, Stree 2, Bhediya, and Munjya. The journey for the film is far from over with no big film is on the anvil for the next two weeks except the re-cut version of SS Rajamouli and Prabhas’s Baahubali- The Epic. Since most people have already seen the film over the past 10 years- the film is expected to have limited impact on Thamma. Also the other release Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat which was released with Thamma has just crossed Rs 40 crore mark.Ayushmann is all set to start his next film which is with Sooraj Barjatiya, Sharvari is paired opposite him. His next release is going to be Pati Patni Aur Woh Dono with Sara Ali Khan, Wamiqa Gabbi and Rakul Preet Singh,
