LAPD begin investigation

NBC News reports that Law enforcement sources informed them that identifying the victim will be delayed as the remains were not intact and that the hacked-up body was heavily decomposed.

Video footage surfaces online

The car in question was reportedly impounded and taken to the yard after it was reportedly abandoned. The car was stationed in the yard for several days before the body was discovered. Video footage shared online, shows the police carrying out their investigations in an area cordoned off with police tape. Police records show the car is registered in Hempstead, Texas, to 20-year-old David Anthony Burke, aka D4vd, a rising music star behind viral hits such as ‘Here With Me’ and ‘Romantic Homicide’, both of which have surpassed a billion streams online.

D4vd continues music tour

While the discovery of the body has put D4vd in the spotlight, the singer remains active on social media and is currently continuing his world tour. He was scheduled to perform in Minneapolis on Tuesday. According to reports, the singer has not yet been labelled as a suspect. The case remains under review by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, who will determine the cause of death.

Fans react

Taking to Twitter, several fans of the singer shared their shock over the news. Some even shared the eerie connection to the lyrics of his hit song, ‘Romantic Homicide’ which had lyrics that read, “In the back of my mind, I killed you | And I didn’t even regret it | I can’t believe I said it | But it’s true | I hate you.”
