When Asha Bhosle spoke about singing live on stage at the age of 90

When Asha Bhosle spoke about singing live on stage at the age of 90 and suriving through difficult times in her life

Asha Bhosle has been admitted to the hospital due to chest infection on Saturday night. While reports suggested that she had a cardiac arrest, her granddaughter Zanai Bhosle shared her health update on social media. She said, “My grandmother, Asha Bhosle, has been admitted to the hospital due to extreme exhaustion and a chest infection, and we request you to respect our privacy. Treatment is ongoing, and we hope everything will be well. We will keep you updated with positive news.” While the legendary singer is 92 now, she has continued to remain active. Infact, she had a live concert in Dubai to mark her 90th birthday celebrations. Her energy on stage and love for singing even at this age has been inspirational for many. One saw in viral videos about the childlike energy she had on stage and was even seen grooving to Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Tauba Tauba’. Here’s recalling the time, she had spoken about doing this special event titled ASHA@90. She had told PTI, “At the age of 90, I have to stand for three hours on stage and sing songs, I’m happy I can do this at this age. Humari saans nahin hoti hai toh aadmi mar jata hai. Mere liye music meri saans hai. I have spent my life with this thought. I have given a lot to music. I feel good I’ve come out of difficult times. Many times I felt I would not be able to survive, but I did.”Looking back at her extensive body of work, she also shared a few regrets and reflections. She expressed a desire to have explored more languages and delved deeper into classical music, while acknowledging the challenges of surviving in a competitive industry.“Music kabhi khatam nahin hota. Ye dariya hai. I’ve sung songs for the main artist and for the dancers as well. I believe I could fit in well with anyone. But I wish I had sung more songs in different languages. I wish I could have done more classical singing. In every field, there’s politics. In films too there’s politics, so it is not easy. I believe a lot in destiny, and I believe whatever is meant for me will come to me and what is not meant for me, I’ll never get that. I faced difficulties, but today when I look back, it all looks mazedar as I came out of it,” she said. As she’s undergoing treatment at the hospital, fans are now wishing for her speedy recovery.
