Salman Khan told Dia Mirza she will be playing his mother onscreen

Salman Khan told 19-year old Dia Mirza she will be playing his mother on-screen someday: 'The actress who was playing his mother just had a baby'

Dia Mirza won hearts the moment she made her debut in ‘Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein’ opposite R Madhavan, after being a beauty pageant winner. Over the years, Dia still continues to be loved and remembered for her debut film. She has gone on to star in many other movies and while some of them may not have done exceptionally well, they remain significant to her. In a recent interaction with Farah Khan for the latter’s vlog on her Youtube channel, Dia showed her property in Mumbai which she purchased with her earnings from ‘Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge’, which starred Salman Khan.During the conversation, she reminded Farah of a particularly chaotic filming experience. “Do you remember that we were shooting a song and a crowd of around 2 lakh people had gathered. How we got out of there and went back to the hotel.” Farah then reminisced about filming a song sequence at a fort, saying, “We shot that song in half a day. She also used to change her clothes very quickly, behind a tree, no vans. Salman used to change standing there only.”When Farah suggested that Dia should reunite with Salman on screen, the actor responded, “But now he will work with girls who are…” Interrupting her, Farah remarked, “No, he is already working with Chitrangada.” Dia then shared a funny memory involving Salman from the early days of her career. “But he told me in my first film, that one day you will play my mother’s role,” she said, laughing. Recalling the incident, she added, “I was 19 years old. Me, Rajpal Yadav, and SK were sitting and waiting for a shot, when I saw the actress who was playing his mother, she had just had a baby. So I said she must be quite young, she is playing your mother, and he said don’t worry, this will happen with you also.”Farah continued the joke by saying, “If there’s a mother’s role in Matrabhoomi, Salman just tell me.” Later in the vlog, Farah teased her cook Dilip, saying, “She is going to play Salman Khan’s mother in a project.” “Right now, no,” he replied.Farah then asked, “Will she look like his mother??” To this, Dilip responded, “She will look like his younger sister.”“Why can’t she look like his heroine, why did you have to say younger sister?” Farah quipped. The conversation eventually turned to Dia’s home and the significance it holds for her. Opening up about the property, the actor said, “This is my place of sanctuary. When the city starts making a lot of noise, I run and come here. This is my refuge. This is the first house any woman in my family has owned. Nobody has ever owned a house. I was 19 years old when I bought it, from the money earned from Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge.”The two also fondly recalled filming the popular song ‘Bindiya Chamke, Choodi Khanke’ in Jaipur, which was choreographed by Farah Khan.Released in 2002 and directed by Pankaj Parashar, ‘Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge’ featured Salman Khan, Dia Mirza, Sushmita Sen and Arbaaz Khan in key roles. Despite its star-studded cast, the film failed to make an impact at the box office. Go to Source
