Ranbir talks about Raha’s curiousity towards Ramayana: ‘Did you shoot with Hanuman?’

Ranbir Kapoor told 'Ramayana' stories to Raha after shoot, she would ask him, 'Did you shoot with Hanuman today?'

Ranbir Kapoor is set to essay the role of Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’. Recently, the makers revealed the first look of Rama teaser on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. Netizens have loved to see Ranbir as Lord Rama even though the teaser overall got a mixed response. The teaser was first launched in LA and in one of the viral clips, Ranbir can be seen opening up on playing Lord Ram. The actor revealed how he would return from shoot and tell stories about it to daughter Raha Kapoor because was so curious to know about the story. He said during a chat with AP, “I’m extremely blessed to have this opportunity to be a part of this film. It coincides with my becoming a father. So, my daughter is three and a half years old. At one side, I’m playing Lord Ram and on the other side I’m also going home and telling her stories about ‘Ramayana’. To just see a three-and-a-half year old to be so curious and ask me, ‘Did you shoot with Hanuman today? Did you shoot with Sita today?’ It shows that this is a part of our DNA, our conscience. It’s really a part of our sub-conscience and the love for it comes naturally. We really want that to reach to a global audience.” Meanwhile during a Q&A session at the New York special IMAX teaser screening, Ranbir said that this offer came to him four years ago and his first reaction was to say no. “Coming to play Lord Ram, I remember when Namit offered me this part around four years back. My instant reaction was: ‘I am not fit enough, good enough.’ I felt I wouldn’t be able to do full justice. But that fear quickly turned into gratitude because opportunities like this were something I truly needed in my life,” he said.He further said, “There was a period when I needed to change my lifestyle. I had just become a father for the first time. The sweet coincidence of playing Lord Ram and becoming a father became a turning point in my life.” Ranbir and Alia Bhatt welcomed their daughter Raha in November 2022.
