Ram Gopal Varma SLAMS ‘dumb dog lovers’: ‘You can’t see…’

Ram Gopal Varma slams 'dumb dog lovers' after Supreme Court's order: 'You can't see children being bitten, mauled and killed?'

Ram Gopal Varma doesn’t care about the consequences when he wants to express his mind. And the same happened today as he commented on the people’s outburst against the Supreme Court’s recent order on shifting stray dogs to shelters in Delhi. The order was issued in response to a rising number of dog bite incidents, rabies cases, and other connected fatalities. While several celebrities called out the judgement, Ram Gopal Varma favored it. Now, the filmmaker has penned a long note for the “dumb dog lovers.”

Ram Gopal Varma’s statement for ‘dumb dog lovers’ who are protesting against the Supreme Court’s order

Sharing a scathing message on X, RGV wrote, “Hey, all you dumb dog lovers, are you so blind, deaf, and brain-dead that you can’t see children being bitten, mauled, and killed on CCTV videos all over the place?”

Ram Gopal Varma claps back: ‘You weep for dogs, not for dead humans’ amid SC stray-dog order row

He didn’t stop there and used explicit words to convey his message, saying, “Can’t you f***ing read the official reports on exploding rabies cases?” Citing a few examples like emergency fire, flood, and riot, he stated that the first action one would take is “deal with immediate dangers” instead of finding the root cause of the issue. He went on to say that in India, while dogs are biting the children, people want to hold “TED talks on kindness and compassion.”He stated that the Apex Court’s order just validates the issue of dog menace on the streets.

Ram Gopal Varma thinks dog shelters cannot solve the problem

In his following posts, he mentioned how mass vaccination is not a smart plan but a “bad script,” since catching the dogs is not easy on the streets. The filmmaker also slammed people for feeding dogs in “random” places, as the animals then make it their territory. He then asked the dog lovers to exchange their foreign breeds with the street ones.

However, the director also expressed that shelters will become an issue. He posted, “In the open streets, diseases disperse. In a shelter, they will fester… One infected dog in a shelter can wipe out hundreds.” He raised questions about the maintenance of the shelters and the money required for the same. He wrote, “For feeding 8 crore dogs in India, even if you spend just Rs 20 a day per dog, that’s Rs 1600 crore per day. Who pays? Dog lovers on Twitter? Or taxpayers who are already overburdened?”

RGV gives measures to battle the dog menace

He suggested following China’s mass culling and the US’ practice of euthanizing unclaimed dogs. He emphasized that India was in need of a “ruthless and practical combo” to tackle the issue.

He then gave measures to counter the dog menace. Take a look.
