Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan’s massive ‘KHxRK’ pay packages REVEALED

'KHxRK': Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan’s massive pay packages REVEALED; Nelson Dilipkumar’s directorial nears 700 crore budget

Tamil cinema fans are eagerly waiting for the massive reunion of Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan in director Nelson Dilipkumar’s upcoming film, tentatively titled ‘KHxRK.’ The project has already become one of the most talked-about films in Indian cinema even before shooting begins. Apart from bringing together two legendary stars after nearly five decades, the film is also creating headlines for its massive budget and record-breaking salaries. Reports now suggest that the film’s lead cast and director alone may receive close to Rs 500 crore as remuneration, making it one of the costliest projects ever planned in Tamil cinema.

Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, and Nelson Dilipkumar to receive massive salaries

According to Deccan Chronicle, Kamal Haasan is expected to receive nearly Rs 220 crore for the film through a profit-sharing model. Since Kamal is also known for his strong involvement in production and distribution strategies, the actor is reportedly choosing a revenue-sharing agreement instead of a fixed salary. Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is said to be earning between Rs 180 crore and Rs 200 crore for the big-budget entertainer. Director Nelson Dilipkumar, who delivered blockbuster films like ‘Jailer,’ is reportedly charging Rs 70 crore for directing the project.

‘KHxRK’ expected to become Tamil Cinema’s costliest film

The report further suggests that the actual production cost of the film may be around Rs 150 crore to Rs 180 crore. However, when the salaries of the lead stars and director are added, the total estimated budget is expected to cross Rs 650 crore to Rs 700 crore. Backed by a leading production house, the movie is now being described as the most expensive Tamil film ever planned. The project has become even more exciting because of the legendary combination of Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, who last shared screen space together several decades ago. With huge expectations already surrounding the film, fans are calling it a once-in-a-generation cinematic event.

A reunion that has already created huge buzz among fans

The excitement around the project continues to grow every day across social media. During a recent public event, Kamal Haasan humorously spoke about reuniting with Rajinikanth and said, “We were united long ago, but chose to remain apart because they kept splitting a biscuit and giving us only half each. Now we are content with just half a biscuit.” The film will also feature music by Anirudh Ravichander and cinematography by Rajiv Menon. Shooting for the ambitious project is expected to begin later this year, and fans are already counting down to witness two of Indian cinema’s biggest icons together on screen once again.
