New releases affect film’s second week

The second week has brought fresh challenges for ‘Param Sundari’. Several new films have entered cinemas, dividing audience attention. ‘Baaghi 4’ stormed into theatres with a strong opening of around Rs 12 crore, and ‘The Bengal Files’ registered around Rs 1.75 crore. Meanwhile, the Hollywood horror film ‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’ surprised everyone with a record-breaking Rs 18 crore net debut. With such strong arrivals, the road ahead for ‘Param Sundari’ looks far from easy.

What is ‘Param Sundari’ about?

‘Param Sundari’ is a light-hearted love story that blends two cultures. It follows Param Sachdev, a North Indian boy, who falls in love with Thekkepattu Sundari Damodharan Pillai, a South Indian girl. Their romance moves between Delhi and Kerala, capturing the beauty and quirks of both regions. The film mixes humour, family drama and colourful visuals to tell its story.Directed by Tushar Jalota, alongside Sidharth and Janhvi, the film also features Sanjay Kapoor and Manjot Singh in important roles. The soundtrack by Sachin–Jigar adds to the film’s charm, bringing peppy beats and soulful melodies.

Road ahead for ‘Param Sundari’

While the film had a colourful and upbeat start, the second week is proving to be a test. With multiple big releases now in theatres, including a Hollywood hit, the collections have slowed sharply. The coming days will decide if ‘Param Sundari’ can find steady support from audiences or if it will continue to struggle against the competition. Go to Source
