Ekta Kapoor breaks myths about Bollywood parties

Ekta Kapoor breaks myths about Bollywood parties, says nobody takes gifts for Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan: 'Not true that people drink heavily'

Bollywood’s glitzy birthday bashes often spark curiosity about the kind of lavish gifts stars might receive. However, producer Ektaa Kapoor recently offered a reality check, revealing that such assumptions are far from the truth. One often sees actors like Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan throw lavish birthday parties for their close friends from the industry. But one wonders what would people be gifting these big stars. Ektaa shared during a chat with MK Talks, “People don’t usually carry gifts to birthdays, especially for big names like Salman or Shah Rukh Khan. What would you even take to their birthdays?” referring to stars like Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. She went on to explain that even she doesn’t indulge much in birthday celebrations. “I actually don’t attend many birthdays. On my own birthday, I go to Tirupati and don’t invite anyone. If you ask normally what one gives at a big person’s birthday, I’ve mostly seen that people only offer blessings,” she said.Breaking the stereotype of extravagant Bollywood parties, Ektaa added, “This impression about the film industry, that expensive gifts are exchanged, people drink heavily, and party all the time, is not true.” In fact, she described the industry as surprisingly subdued. “In fact, you won’t find a more boring industry than this. The film industry is the most boring industry,” she remarked, noting that many stars maintain disciplined routines, sleeping early, waking up on time, and prioritising their health over late-night indulgence. On the work front, Ektaa’s upcoming film Bhooth Bangla is slated to release on April 17. The horror-comedy features Akshay Kumar in the lead, alongside Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Tabu, and Wamiqa Gabbi in key roles.
