Olivia Rodrigo releases ‘The Cure’ music video

Olivia Rodrigo releases ‘The Cure’; turns from nurse to patient in new music video

Olivia Rodrigo is back for another with ‘The Cure’, another single from her upcoming album titled ‘You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love’. The song has been produced by Dan Nigro, with whom Rodrigo has been working for quite some time. With the release of the music video and second single from her album, the musician is welcoming an entirely new era.

Olivia Rodrigo releases new ‘The Cure’ music video and song

Produced by Nigro, with a fascinating music video by Cat Solen and Jamie Gerin, the singer is back again for more. In the music video, Rodrigo plays the role of a nurse who is attempting to survive in a hospital and trying to save hearts in the midcentury. However, with no surprise at all, she ends up becoming a patient at the hospital herself. This is not the first music video that the singer has released from her upcoming album this June, as she earlier dropped the music video for the lead single ‘Drop Dead.’ The video had her dancing around Versailles, singing about the giddiness and fondness that one feels from falling in love for the very first time. In contrast to this song, ‘The Cure’ is all about realizing that love will not save you from life, problems, and circumstances. Rodrigo is all about acknowledging that romance does not have any magic to save your life, and that you have to do it yourself. She compares ‘The Cure’ to the false hope that being with someone will help her solve all of her problems. The ‘Driver’s Licence’ also debuted another song earlier last month in a secretive performance with Weyes Blood’s Natalie Mering.

Olivia Rodrigo talks about ‘The Cure’

During one of her latest performances, the singer also talked about the song, even going beyond and clarifying that the title of the song was not taken from the famous band The Cure. While featuring on the Elvis Duran show recently, the singer stated that “Although I love it so much, it just is a happy coincidence.” She also added that while there is no connection between the two, she is friends with the lead of the band, Robert Smithy, and the two often meet as well. “I love him. We talk like, every week. He’s amazing,” she added. As for the song, the singer shared that “It’s a new perspective that I haven’t had the maturity to express before in earlier albums.” Go to Source
