Thalapathy Vijay’s ‘Jana Nayagan’ has entered its first weekday on a slower note after enjoying a solid opening weekend at the box office. The film had crossed the Rs 200 crore mark worldwide within four days of release. However, collections dipped sharply on its first Monday.According to Sacnilk, the film collected an estimated Rs 10.15 crore net in India on Day 5. The latest figure marks a 68.3% drop from Sunday’s Rs 32 crore net collection.

Worldwide collection crosses Rs 233 crore

‘Jana Nayagan’ has taken its India net collection to Rs 134.90 crore. The film’s India gross collection now stands at Rs 157.74 crore.On Monday, the film added Rs 4 crore gross internationally. This pushed its overseas total to Rs 75.50 crore gross. As a result, the film’s worldwide gross collection has climbed to an estimated Rs 233.24 crore.The film was screened in 10,436 shows across the country on Monday. The number was lower than Sunday’s 12,107 shows.The Tamil version collected Rs 8.40 crore net and the Hindi version earned Rs 1.20 crore net, while the Telugu version contributed Rs 55 lakhs.Andhra Pradesh and Telangana together contributed Rs 65 lakhs, while Kerala added Rs 70 lakhs. The rest of India generated Rs 1.26 crore gross, taking the film’s Day 5 India gross to Rs 11.76 crore.

Occupancy sees better evening footfall

The Tamil version recorded an overall occupancy of 32.65% on Monday. Audience turnout improved during the evening shows which registered 40.15% occupancy. Night shows followed closely with 36.31%.The Hindi version reported an overall occupancy of 12.48%. Its night shows witnessed the highest attendance at 17.50%.Meanwhile, the Telugu version registered an overall occupancy of 17.40%. Afternoon shows performed the best with 19.90% occupancy.
