‘Mirage’ BO Asif starrer shows a sharp drop on Monday

'Mirage' box office collections day 4: Asif Ali starrer shows a sharp drop on Monday, hits Rs 3.49 crore

Asif Ali’s latest film ‘Mirage’, directed by Jeethu Joseph, has completed four days at the box office with collections touching Rs 3.49 crores in India.According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the crime-thriller opened with Rs 1 crore on Friday and saw small but steady growth over the weekend, earning Rs 1.05 crore on Saturday and Rs 1.15 crore on Sunday. However, Monday witnessed a sharp drop, bringing in just Rs 29 lakhs. Overall the movie is getting mixed reviews. The expectations were quite high as the ‘Drishyam’ director never disappoints.

Occupancy trends across shows

On its fourth day, September 22, ‘Mirage’ recorded an overall Malayalam occupancy of 11.69%. The film’s Monday numbers reveal how audience engagement shifted through the day, with morning shows registering a low 5.27% and afternoon shows slightly better at 10.95%. Evening shows improved to 12.87%, while night shows recorded the highest at 17.66%.

Our verdict for ‘Mirage’

Mirage brings together a strong ensemble with Asif Ali in the lead, alongside Aparna Balamurali, Deepak Parambol, Arjun Syam Gopan, Hakim Shahjahan, and Sampath Raj. This marks Asif Ali’s second collaboration with acclaimed filmmaker Jeethu Joseph, after their earlier successful outing ‘Kooman’.ETimes gave ‘Mirage’ a rating of 2.5 star out of 5 and an excerpt from our review reads, “The film struggles to connect the audience with its characters. After the first ten minutes of premise establishment, it fails to evoke any real emotion or intrigue about their fates, regaining some energy only in the last five minutes. The ending might have landed better if the lengthy runtime had been spent building genuine intrigue. This makes it a passable crime thriller at best.”With ‘Mirage’ entering its crucial weekdays, all eyes are now on whether the film can sustain momentum and cross the next milestone in collections.DISCLAIMER: The box office numbers in this article are compiled from our proprietary sources and diverse public data.
