Two patients who had tested positive reportedly died while undergoing treatment.Following the latest cases, district authorities have stepped up surveillance and deployed rapid-response teams to collect samples in affected areas. Reports suggest that around 40 samples were collected, of which 18 tested negative, while the remaining results are awaited. Some of the samples have also been sent to a laboratory in Pune for genome sequencing to identify the circulating variant and better understand its transmission pattern.Health authorities have advised residents not to panic but to continue following basic precautions, including wearing masks in crowded places, maintaining hand hygiene and consulting a doctor if COVID-like symptoms develop.Further updates on Jaan Kumar Sanu’s health are awaited.
