Meryl Streep approves of Karan Johar’s Rs 1.25 lakh shoes as he chats with her and Anne Hathaway ahead of 'The Devil Wears Prada 2'

‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ is one of the most awaited movies of the year and Karan Johar had a fanboy moment as he interviewed Meryl Streep. Anne Hathaway was also a part of this chat as the duo promoted their upcoming film in Tokyo. A teaser from their conversation is now out and it has left the Indian fans wanting for more. A video shared by 20th Century Studios’ official Instagram handle captured a fun moment between them. In the clip, Anne cheekily asked Karan, “But do you judge their shoes?” After pausing for a beat, he replied with a smile, “All the time,” leaving her in splits. Joining in, Meryl added a playful compliment: “But you have the perfect shoe on today,” clearly approving his style. For the appearance, Karan turned heads in a bold black-and-white pair of downtown leather Prada sneakers, reportedly priced at over Rs 1.25 lakh.Earlier, Karan had taken to Instagram to share pictures with the two stars, along with a heartfelt note about Meryl Streep. “This is not a caption. This is a confession. I am singularly obsessed and inspired by the unmatchable brilliance of Meryl Streep,” he wrote, even calling her his “guru” when it comes to acting. Opening up about his love for the original film, he revealed that he has watched The Devil Wears Prada 47 times. “I have quoted it at dinner tables, in edit suites and in board meetings (no kidding!). So when I tell you that standing next to HER & them today, I felt the ground shift, please believe me,” he shared, admitting that despite trying to stay calm, his “knees were rattling.”He also spoke warmly about the actors, adding, “They were both so warm and welcoming. This image is going in my will.”The sequel will revisit the beloved characters of Miranda Priestly and Andy Sachs nearly two decades after the original became a cult favorite. Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci are also set to reprise their roles, promising a mix of nostalgia and fresh high-fashion drama. ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ is scheduled for a global release on May 1.
