Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, has frequently drawn attention online, especially after a clip of her adorably attempting Hindi words caught the internet’s eye last year. Growing up in the US after being born in 2022, Malti’s rare desi moments continue to delight fans. Recently, Priyanka’s cousin and actor-model Mannara Chopra opened up about her close equation with the global icon and also spoke about Malti Marie.In an interview with Filmygyan, when asked whether she sees Priyanka as a godmother figure, Mannara replied simply and affectionately, “She is my sister, I would say.”
‘You just take your heart out and tell her what you are feeling’
Recalling Priyanka’s recent visit to India, Mannara spoke about the comfort she finds in her presence. “Recently, she was visiting India, so I went to meet her. You just take your heart out and you can tell her what you are feeling right now,” she said.Describing Priyanka as a guiding force, Mannara added, “She is like that calming factor. She doesn’t have that thing where she will solve everything for you, but she will guide you in a way which is so proper.”Opening up about how their bond has evolved, Mannara shared, “You think to yourself, why didn’t I think like this? She guides me very nicely as a sister. I feel very emotional whenever I am around her, especially over the past two years.”She added that while their earlier meetings were light-hearted, things have changed now. “Earlier, it was mostly fun, chirpy, just giggling. Now, whenever I meet her, I am always hugging her,” she said.Mannara also spoke about an emotional shift she has experienced in her relationship with Priyanka. “There’s some kind of change internally within me. I don’t know why, but whenever I am too emotional and I see her, I am always like, ‘Ek jaadu ki jhappi’ (a magical hug),” she said, adding that life then moves on with work and responsibilities.
‘Malti is a proper LA baby’
When asked about Priyanka’s daughter Malti and whether she speaks Hindi, Mannara clarified, “She communicates properly in English. Of course, she has picked up a few Hindi words.” Calling her a “proper LA baby,” Mannara added, “The last time I met her was during my brother’s wedding this year.
