Mamitha Baiju’s massive ‘Kara’ paycheck revealed

Mamitha Baiju’s massive ‘Kara’ paycheck revealed: Did 'Kara' actress net a whopping Rs. 2 crore for Dhanush’s film?

Mamitha Baiju is making waves across the industry once again, this time for her reported massive remuneration in the recently released Tamil drama ‘Kara.’ Starring alongside Dhanush, Mamitha has reportedly bagged a paycheck of Rs 2 crore for her role as Chelli, a figure that has sparked intense discussion among fans and trade analysts alike. Directed by Vignesh Raja, the film follows the gripping journey of Karasamy played by Dhanush as he navigates a life of crime and redemption against the backdrop of the 1990s.

Mamitha Baiju reportedly charged Rs 2 crore for ‘Kara’

According to Cine Ulagam, Mamitha Baiju has reportedly received a salary of around Rs 2 crore for role in ‘Kara.’ Though the amount has not been officially confirmed by makers or the actress herself, the speculation has already become a major talking point. In the film, Mamitha stars opposite Dhanush and plays the character named Chelli. The film, directed by Vignesh Raja released on April 30 has courted a favourable response from viewers for Baiju’s portrayal in an emotional rural role alongside Dhanush in this intense drama.

‘Kara’ story revolves around Dhanush’s character

The film follows the story of Karasamy, played by Dhanush, who gets involved in a theft case and later escapes from police custody with his wife Chelli. The couple then moves to Andhra Pradesh and attempts to start a peaceful life. Later, Karasamy returns to his hometown to sell family land and start a business, but new problems begin to arise. His father, played by K. S. Ravikumar, opposes the decision because the land is already tied to financial troubles. The story then follows Karasamy’s struggles, emotional conflicts, and dangerous situations as he tries to rebuild his life.

Mamitha’s performance receives early praise from fans

Even though Mamitha Baiju reportedly has limited screen time in the film, early reactions suggest that her role leaves a strong impact. Viewers who have watched the film have praised her emotional depth and on-screen chemistry with Dhanush. The film also stars Karunas, Jayaram, and Suraj Venjaramoodu in pivotal roles. While Mamitha continues to climb the ladder of stardom with high-profile projects like ‘Jana Nayagan’ alongside Thalapathy Vijay, her impactful performance and soaring market value in Kara place her in the top league as one of the most sought-after leading ladies in South cinema today.
