Malaika backs Arhaan’s no-kids stance amid AQI concerns

Malaika Arora on Arhaan Khan’s 'no marriage, no grandkids' stance: 'Why bring kids into this world with AQI at 500 and 1000?'

In a candid moment, Malaika Arora opens up about her shifting perspectives on romantic connections, noting their fleeting essence and the lack of certainty they bring. She shared an unexpected discussion with her son, Arhaan Khan, who voiced his reluctance towards marriage and parenthood, citing the planet’s well-being as a primary concern.

Malaika Arora has opened up about relationships, self-love, and her son Arhaan Khan’s views on marriage and children. The actor and television personality said relationships keep changing, and nothing comes with a guarantee. She also shared that Arhaan Khan has told her he does not plan to get married or have children, leaving her surprised during a casual conversation at home.

Malaika Arora on relationships and changing views

In an exclusive interview with Times Entertainment, Malaika said her ideas about love and relationships have evolved with time. “I think relationships are ever-changing. And I’m not a cynic. I am somebody who is… I believe in all of it, but I also feel there’s no guarantee. I mean, we’ve grown up with the idea of forever and ever, walking into the sunset. We’ve all grown up with that idea because that’s the kind of movies we’ve watched and the books we’ve read. But I feel that’s not it. That’s not it.”Arora added that people learn to accept change as life moves forward. “I don’t think that too many things are constant. I think things are ever-changing. You kind of make your peace with things. You kind of adapt to situations.” Malaika has often faced public attention around her personal life, but she has continued to speak about her choices without changing her public image to suit outside opinions.

Arhaan Khan tells Malaika Arora he will not marry

During the same conversation, Malaika spoke about her son Arhaan Khan and said his views often differ from hers. She recalled him telling her, “Mom, I’m not gonna get married, no? So please forget the fact that you’re gonna have grandkids.”When she asked him why, Arhaan replied, “Why would I want to bring kids into this world with the AQI at 500 and AQI at 1000? Why would I want to do that?” She said he added, “It’s just not worth it.” Malaika said she reacted by asking, “Are you crazy?” and told him, “No, you’ve got to experience all of it.”Malaika also spoke to Pinkvilla about self-love. “I love myself. I will say that every day of my life, because I feel if I don’t say that to myself I am never going to be able to be better. I am never going to be able to do things the way I want to or enjoy life. I need to love myself first before I do anything else.”Malaika married Arbaaz Khan in 1998 after they met during a coffee advertisement shoot. They divorced on May 11, 2017, and share a son, Arhaan. On the work front, she was last seen in a special appearance in the song ‘Poison Baby’ from the film ‘Thamma’.
