'Karuppu' box office collection day 23: Suriya starrer jumps 62.7 percent; Film crosses 300 crore worldwide

Suriya and Trisha Krishnan starrer ‘Karuppu’ has continued its successful theatrical run and has recorded a strong jump in collections on its fourth Saturday. The film witnessed a major increase in numbers after showing steady performance during the previous days.

‘Karuppu’ records big jump on Day 23

According to Sacnilk, ‘Karuppu’ earned Rs 1.35 crore net on Day 23. The latest figure represents a growth of 62.7 percent when compared to the Day 22 collection of Rs 83 lakhs.The film collected the amount from 931 shows across languages. Following the latest update, the movie’s total India net collection has now reached Rs 191.53 crore. Its India gross collection has climbed to Rs 221.40 crore.

Worldwide total moves beyond 300 crore

‘Karuppu’ collected Rs 20 lakhs overseas on Day 23. The total overseas gross collection has now reached Rs 80.40 crore.’Karuppu’ has now crossed Rs 300 crore worldwide and currently stands at Rs 301.80 crore gross. The film had already built a good foundation during its opening week. It collected Rs 113.85 crore during its first week before maintaining steady numbers in the following weeks.

Tamil version remains the major contributor

The Tamil version continued to drive the film’s overall business. On Day 23, it contributed Rs 1.25 crore,The Telugu version added Rs 10 lakhs to the total. Occupancy figures also showed stronger audience turnout in Tamil screenings. Karuppu recorded an overall Tamil occupancy of 41.12 percent on Day 23. Morning shows began at 12.55 percent and later increased across the day. Night shows registered the highest response with 48.09 percent occupancy.State-wise reports also showed Tamil Nadu leading collections with Rs 1.35 crore gross on Day 23.’Karuppu’ had collected Rs 21.20 crore during its third week. The fourth week began with Rs 83 lakhs on Friday before Saturday numbers showed a major rise.
