Rob Base’s unfortunate demise

Surrounded by friends and family at the final moments, Base passed away due to his cancer diagnosis. “Rob’s music, energy, and legacy helped shape a generation and brought joy to millions around the world. Beyond the stage, he was a loving father, family man, friend, and creative force whose impact will never be forgotten,” the caption said of the joint post, before adding, “Thank you for the music, the memories, and the moments that became the soundtrack to our lives.” Many fans paid homage to the beloved musician in the comment section, sharing their memories of him and his music. Rob Base (real name Robert Ginyard) was born on May 18, 1967, and became a sensation in 1988 after the release of the hit song ‘It Takes Two.’ He met his duo member, DJ E-Z, in the fifth grade while growing up in Harlem, according to People Magazine. After watching their local band Crash Crew, the then-teenagers were inspired to form a duo, prompting Base to buy microphones and his friend to buy turntables and mixers. Releasing their songs ‘DJ Interview’ and ‘Make It Hot,’ ‘It Takes Two’ smashed the records. The tune was also part of many films, including Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds’ romantic-comedy, ‘The Proposal.’ After facing complications from diabetes, DJ E-Z, whose real name was Rodney Bryce, passed away in 2014 when he was 56 years old.
