Disney Animation unveils new film titled ‘Hexed’

Disney has released the first teaser for ‘Hexed’, a new animated fantasy led by Hailee Steinfeld and Rashida Jones. The coming-of-age story follows an impulsive teenager who discovers hidden magical powers and enters a secret world of witches. The footage introduces its central family conflict, colorful fantasy setting, and enchanted supporting characters. Walt Disney Animation Studios will release the film exclusively in theaters on November 25, 2026.

‘Hexed’ trailer introduces Hailee Steinfeld as Billie

ComicBookMovie. com shared details about the teaser and newly released posters. ‘Hexed’ marks Walt Disney Animation Studios’ 65th animated feature and presents an original story centered on magic, identity, and family secrets. Steinfeld voices Billie, an unconventional teenager who struggles to find her place. Rashida Jones voices her cautious mother, Alice. Billie’s life changes when she accidentally unleashes magical abilities. The incident pulls her away from suburbia and into Hexe, a hidden realm filled with witches. There, she meets Ms. Quill, an enchanted feather quill pen, and Elias Quire, a magical journal.Director Fawn Veerasunthorn explained Billie’s emotional journey. “A wonderfully strange phenomenon is happening all around Billie, something she can’t explain. She’s someone who has felt miscast in her own life, and it takes leaving her normal world behind and entering a hidden world of wild, unhinged magic to begin to understand herself.”

‘Hexed’ cast, story and release date

Director Jason Hand said Hexe gives Billie the acceptance she has long wanted. “Hexe is a place where Billie begins to feel seen for the first time in her life,” he said. “She embarks on a journey of self-discovery that reveals a powerful connection to magic, and in the process uncovers long-held secrets about her family.”Tracey Ullman voices Ms. Quill, while Stephen Fry plays Elias Quire. They join the previously announced cast members Steinfeld and Jones. Veerasunthorn and Hand directed ‘Hexed’, with Josie Trinidad serving as co-director. Roy Conli and Yvett Merino produced the movie. Steinfeld previously voiced Gwen Stacy in ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ and starred in ‘Bumblebee’. She also plays Kate Bishop in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Disney has promoted the film with the line, “Welcome to Hexe, the world of witches,” ahead of its theatrical release.
