Nauheed reveals having two miscarriages when asked about not having kids

Nauheed Cyrusi reveals she went through two miscarriages when asked why she doesn't have kids: 'Didn't want to do IVF, our purpose in life has to be something more than just getting babies'

Actor Nauheed Cyrusi has candidly addressed one of the most personal questions she has faced over the years. In a recent Instagram video, she responded to a follower who asked, “Why don’t you want to have kids?” Instead of offering a brief response, Nauheed shared her emotional journey through pregnancy loss, her views on motherhood, and how she and her husband, Rustom Contractor, have come to embrace the life they have today.Nauheed and Rustom tied the knot in January 2017. A year later, they were expecting their first child. However, the pregnancy ended in heartbreak after she suffered a miscarriage during the third month.Recalling the painful experience, she said, “Unfortunately, that ended up in a miscarriage in the third month. The doctor told me, ‘Go out and tell your family.’ We went in for our last check-up. By hearing the heartbeat, etc. Unfortunately, there wasn’t any.”In the aftermath of their loss, the couple found comfort in welcoming a new companion into their lives. They adopted Jojo, a cocker spaniel with special needs, from the SPCA.”We ended up adopting Jojo. He was our almost blind, almost deaf cocker. We adopted him from SPCA,” she shared.Years later, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Nauheed became pregnant again. Sadly, the second pregnancy also ended in miscarriage. “Now, dead in the middle of COVID, we got pregnant with our second baby. Ended up in a miscarriage.”The repeated losses gradually reshaped the couple’s perspective on life. Rather than centering everything around becoming parents, they began reflecting on a broader purpose.”By now, we have also started to think our purpose in life has to be something more than just getting babies into this world,” Nauheed said. She also spoke about how the changing world influenced their outlook, adding, “Please tell me you’ve noticed that this world is just not the same world that we grew up in.”That change in mindset led the couple to devote themselves to animal welfare. Nauheed revealed that they have quietly spent years caring for animals without seeking public attention.”Our purpose probably is taking care of the furries that need us. And so we’ve been doing a lot for animals without anyone really knowing.”Addressing another question often raised by followers, Nauheed explained why she chose not to undergo IVF or other assisted fertility treatments. She said, “Important thing I forgot to mention was that I did not want to do any form of IVF, any form of artificial anything. Because I just felt like if a baby is meant to be ours, then it will be ours. And I don’t want to go down that route.”She also revealed that she has frozen her eggs, leaving the possibility open should she ever decide differently in the future.Concluding the video, Nauheed simply said, “Hope this clears the air.”If you’d like, I can also make it read more like an entertainment news article with a stronger opening and smoother transitions.
