‘De De Pyaar De 2’ box office collection day 11

'De De Pyaar De 2' box office collection day 11: The Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, Rakul Preet Singh starrer performs better than new releases 'Masti 4', '120 Bahadur'

Ajay Devgn’s ‘De De Pyaar De 2′ which is a sequel to the first part which released in 2019 has been holding up decently well at the box office. The film had an opening of about Rs 8.75 crore saw some growth over its first Saturday and Sunday. However, more was expected out of it through positive word of mouth. After making Rs 51.1 crore in its first week,’De De Pyaar De 2’ collected Rs 2.25 crore on second Friday, Rs 4 crore and Rs 4.50 crore on second Saturday and Sunday respectively. This was its day 9 and day 10 which is second weekend. This was better than the first weekend numbers of both ‘120 Bahadur’ and ‘Masti 4’. On Monday, the drop was expected. The film made Rs 1.50 crore on Monday. The total collection according to Sacnilk is now Rs 63.20 crore. The original ‘De De Pyaar De’ (2019) had delivered remarkable steadiness beyond its first week, posting Rs 14.04 crore in its second weekend. Its strong word-of-mouth, contemporary premise, and the engaging chemistry between Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Rakul Preet Singh played a key role in its sustained run. In contrast, ‘De De Pyaar De 2’ has earned Rs 10.75 crore in its second weekend, over Rs 3.29 crore lower than Part 1. The dip isn’t surprising, given the sequel’s comparatively weaker first-week numbers. However, there’s a minor silver lining: the film managed to hold on to nearly 20% of its screens, which it was expected to lose to new releases like ‘120 Bahadur’ and ‘Mastiii 4’. Fortunately for the sequel, the underwhelming response to ‘Mastiii 4’ meant those screens continued to stay with ‘De De Pyaar De 2’.
