Detailing the matter, she shared, “My son told me last week it was all science; he didn’t personally believe in God … In that moment I believed I had failed as a mother because I know there is a Holy Spirit that sits high in the kingdom of heaven … I’ve been there; I’ve felt it … I want to tell my kids and people in general that I’m sorry for my mistakes in the past.”

Britney Spears calls out her parents for their actions

In her post, she also mentioned that her parents secretly took her children to the beach.’ She added, “I wondered why I wasn’t a part of their cool secret outings. I felt demoralised to live in a country where it was accepted for people like my mom and dad to live secret lives with my children… I honestly went to my knees and cried for two months.”She also talked about how there were times when her father would not allow her to leave the house for more than four months at a time. She mentioned that she once made a friend; however, her father never allowed her to see that friend despite her repeated requests. She added, “Society doesn’t understand the real effects to this very day of the rights and freedoms anyone should be able to have… I never got to be me, the real Spears… I used to be unbelievably intelligent, and 100 percent I was brainwashed into an ignorant system where every goddamn person took advantage of me…”Commenting on how much things have changed for her, Spears added, “I miss the excitement in my eyes being alive when I was younger, always so eager to please and hungry for life. I was unbelievably passionate about everything.”

About Britney Spears and her conservatorship

For context, Spears was placed under a conservatorship very early on in her life. In 2008, following continuous struggle with mental health issues and substance abuse, a judge ordered her to be placed under the conservatorship of her father, Jamie Spears. He mainly ran the entire arrangement and had legal power over her multi-million dollar fortune and personal choices for almost 13 years. In 2021, during another ruling, the singer was finally freed from her conservatorship. During the court hearings leading up to this, Spears had testified multiple times that the setup was abusive and violent for her.
