The Guardian quoted Christopher Giordano, FBI special agent in charge of the investigation, as saying that Donald Henson is from Penn Hills, Pennsylvania. He reportedly drove at high speed toward the main entrance gate at about 2.40am.

The FBI said “some vulgarity” was written on the side of his white Toyota Corolla. After the crash, he came out of the vehicle, pulled out an American flag and threw its over the fence before fleeing the spot. No injuries were reported.

“We look at this as an act of terror against the FBI,” Giordano said. “This was a targeted attack on this building. Thankfully no one was hurt, but we are going to exhaust every ability we have under the federal law to find, apprehend and prosecute this subject to the fullest extent.”

FBI seeks public help

“We’re hoping by putting his photograph and his name out there, that we will start getting some tips from the public,” Giordano said.

It said: “The public is asked to please call 911, call the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI, or make a report online at http://tips.fbi.gov.”

Meanwhile, the officials confirmed that this was not the first time that Henson had come to the FBI office.

“He did come here to the FBI field office a few weeks ago to make a complaint that didn’t make a whole lot of sense,” Giordano said.
