‘Many Killed’ In Blast Near Delhi Landmark, Slow-Moving Car Bursts Into Flames At Traffic Light | 4K

A car explosion killed at least 9 people near a metro station at the landmark Red Fort monument in Delhi, India. More than 30 other people were “badly injured.” While the cause of the blast is not yet known, airports, railway stations, government buildings and heritage sites across the country have been put on high alert. The Red Fort is a 17th-century Mughal-era fort in the old city and is visited by tourists throughout the year. Before the explosion, a “slow-moving” vehicle with three people inside, “came to a stop” near a red light around 6:42 pm local time (5:42 a.m. ET), following which the vehicle exoloded. The intensity of the blast set at least six vehicles nearby on fire, Reuters reported, citing Delhi’s deputy fire chief. n18oc_crux | n18oc_world
