United States carried out a second consecutive day of airstrikes against Iran, targeting multiple cities across the country’s southern region. According to the report, strikes hit areas including Chabahar, Bandar Abbas, Sirik, Qeshm, and Bushehr, causing damage to military facilities and infrastructure. It states that Chabahar Port’s maritime control tower was damaged and temporary power outages occurred before electricity was restored. The report says the US Central Command confirmed the attacks were ordered by President Donald Trump to protect international shipping through the Strait of Hormuz and weaken Iran’s military capabilities. Iranian media reportedly said a military base in Bushehr was struck, while the nearby nuclear power plant remained unharmed. The report also mentions that Trump described the strikes as retaliation for attacks on commercial ships near Hormuz and suggested the conflict would end quickly. It further claims Iran responded by targeting US bases in Bahrain and Kuwait, while Tehran vowed additional retaliation, raising concerns of renewed regional escalation.
