In an alarming incident emerging from Shahbad tehsil in Rampur district, Uttar Pradesh, a wedding was dramatically cancelled after a last-minute revelation that the groom had been switched. In today’s digital age, where even matchmaking is conducted online, this incident serves as a stark reminder of potential pitfalls.

A young man from Shahbad, currently working in Delhi, got acquainted with an individual there. During their interactions, he mentioned his search for a suitable groom for his sister. The acquaintance soon shared a boy’s photo via WhatsApp, which the family found agreeable, and the marriage was arranged with the wedding date set for September 13.

The bride’s brother grew wary upon seeing the groom, whose appearance did not match the photo previously shared. This revelation led to the immediate cancellation of the marriage. In a swift turn of events, the bride was married to another young man later the same night.
