A law student bravely confronted a shopkeeper at a busy market in Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore after he allegedly made inappropriate comments about her choice of clothing. The incident took place at Flower Market when the student visited the market wearing a sleeveless top.

According to reports, the shopkeeper made derogatory remarks, implying that such attire was unsuitable for the marketplace. Offended by the comment, the student immediately confronted him and questioned his mindset, India Today reported.

In response, the man allegedly justified his remark, claiming that unpleasant incidents had occurred earlier due to women wearing similar outfits. The student countered by stating her clothing was well within acceptable norms and that no one had the right to police how women dress in public.

A video of their heated exchanged has surfaced on social media. The video shows the woman standing her ground against the shopkeeper.

She also told the shopkeeper that if the market had any rules about attire, they should be clearly displayed, and warned that she could pursue legal action for harassment.

Tensions rose further when a few other vendors reportedly sided with the shopkeeper. Despite this, the student continued to defend her stance. A bystander recorded the confrontation, and the video has since gone viral, drawing widespread attention online.
