Imtiaz Ali’s directorial ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’, led by Diljit Dosanjh, Sharvari, and Vedang Raina, has become one of Bollywood’s biggest comeback stories of 2026. The Partition-era love story opened to modest numbers but has steadily gained strength through strong word-of-mouth publicity.

Week 1 and week 2 recap

The film opened at an estimated Rs 12.25 crore in its first week. Its fortunes changed drastically in Week 2, as positive audience response led to a major surge, with collections nearly doubling to Rs 22.5 crore.

‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ box office collection Day 19

The momentum continued into the third week as well. According to data from Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 1.75 crore on Day 19 across 2046 shows, marking a 16.7% jump over the previous day. The film’s total India net collection now stands at Rs 49.55 crore, while the India gross has touched Rs 59.02 crore.

Overseas and worldwide box office

Internationally, ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ added Rs 50 lakh on Day 19, pushing its overseas gross to Rs 16.50 crore. Combined with its domestic earnings, the film’s worldwide gross now stands at Rs 75.52 crore.

Box office competition in week 3

‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ is facing tough competition in its third weekend. ‘Cocktail 2’, starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna, collected Rs 4.40 crore on Sunday. Meanwhile, the newly released Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ dominated with Rs 24.75 crore on the same day, creating a challenging environment for holdover films like ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’.
