Indore’s sensational Raja Raghuvanshi honeymoon murder case, which once gripped headlines across the country, is set to be recreated on the silver screen. Titled Honeymoon in Shillong, the film will depict the sensational crime from Raja’s childhood to the events surrounding his fateful honeymoon.

The project recently unveiled its poster, and now a major update has emerged. Raja’s brother, Vipin Raghuvanshi, revealed that the film’s first song will be launched on September 21, i.e. Raja’s birthday. Shooting for the track will begin next week, with 70 percent of the film to be shot in Indore and the remaining 30 percent in Shillong.

According to Vipin, the production will be packed with suspense, thriller elements, and a detailed account of true events that the nation has long been curious to see. But while the story moves toward cinematic release, the real-life Raghuvanshi family says they are living in constant fear.

Vipin alleged that unknown people have been showing up at their home daily, claiming connections to Raja. In one alarming incident, a man allegedly posing as a police station in-charge entered their house, gathered personal details about the children and family members, and left.

Raja’s father, Ashok Raghuvanshi, said, “An unknown man has come to the house in disguise. Now we are scared. In such a situation, anyone can come and kill us.” The family has since resorted to keeping their gate locked at all times.

Vipin confirmed he is applying for a firearm license to protect the household. “There is a threat looming over the family, so it has become necessary to keep a pistol,” he said. The family has also sought police protection, but says they are now taking independent measures to ensure their safety.
