Every year, countless people leave their hometowns and move to new cities in the hope of better opportunities, a decent job, better education or even a comfortable lifestyle. They make rented apartments or small flats their new homes, making a fresh start. However, sometimes, it’s not always a smooth dream with factors ranging from unreasonable landlords to poor housing societies. Along similar lines, a video of one such distressing incident from Greater Noida has sparked outrage.

The clip captured some guards of a housing society physically assaulting a woman after she came out in support of a fellow resident. It all started when a person named Arjun drove his car inside the complex through the exit gate, reported Bhaskar English. When two of the guards objected and got into a heated argument with the person, the other flat owners intervened. During the commotion, another woman tried to pacify the situation, but the matter escalated further.

The video, now circulating widely on X, showed the guards pushing, shoving, and even beating the woman. The guards and society residents clashed with each other brutally, and the police personnel were forced to intervene. The confrontation took place at Amrapali Golf Homes near the Bisrakh police station.

Sharing the video on the microblogging platform, the user wrote, “Brutality against a woman in society. Guards beat the woman severely in the Amrapali Golf Homes Society in Greater Noida West. Dispute over bringing a vehicle inside society through the exit gate. An atmosphere of fear among society residents, where the guards are doing as they please. Incidents of theft are continuously increasing in society.”

Internet Defends The Victim

The internet shared its two cents on the matter.

“Very unfortunate,” commented a user. “I am lucky that I have made the right decision not to buy a home in Noida or Ghaziabad,” admitted another. “How do they have so much courage to beat (a woman) when the police are present? What superpower do these guards have? Are they hired for the residents’ security or for beating people up?” asked an individual sarcastically.

A person asked, “How is this allowed in front of UP Police? Can’t they take action?”

Security guards detained

In a follow-up post, the person said that UP police has taken “immediate action.”

Police have detained both the security guards and they are investigating the matter.
