The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) announced the 2025 rankings for higher education in India on September 4. Five Bengaluru universities feature in the top 100, with IISc securing the No.1 spot for the 10th year in a row. Here’s a look at Bengaluru’s top-ranked institutions.

Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru: India’s No.1 university for the tenth year in a row. With 42 departments, world-class research, and global collaborations, IISc sets the benchmark in science, engineering, and technology education—a hub of innovation and excellence.

Jain University: From its inception in 1990 to its current offering of over 200 programs, Jain University, a deemed-to-be university, seamlessly blends academics with industry exposure. Known for strong management courses and global outreach, it holds 62nd position in the country.

University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS): Specialised in agricultural sciences and rural development, UAS ranks 95th among India’s top universities. With strong community engagement and a focus on sustainable farming, it plays a vital role in advancing India’s food and farming future.
