Iran has claimed it has built weapons factories in several foreign countries but will not disclose their locations for now.

The statement was made by Iranian Defence Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh during a televised interview on Friday, Iran International reported.

“We have built weapons factories in some countries, but for now we will not announce which ones,” Nasirzadeh said.

He also revealed that Iran had tested “new warheads in the past year that are both advanced and maneuverable.”

Nasirzadeh’s remarks came just a day after Iran launched military exercises under the name “Sustainable Power 1404.” These are Iran’s first solo drills since the 12-day air war with Israel in June, during which the country suffered heavy losses, including the destruction of its air defences and significant damage to its stockpile of ballistic missiles.

During the new drills, Iran’s navy reportedly fired missiles and drones at sea targets in the Indian Ocean. State television noted that these exercises follow joint naval drills with Russia held last month in the Caspian Sea.

“These drills take place around a month after the Iran-Russia drill under the name Casarex 2025 which took place in Iran’s northern waters (Caspian Sea). The Sustainable Power drills…are in Iran’s southern waters,” state TV said.

Following the conflict with Israel — which included US involvement and the killing of key Iranian nuclear scientists and military commanders — Iran’s Defence Ministry issued a strong warning. “Any new adventure by the enemy will be faced with a strong slap,” it said on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the future of nuclear talks between Iran and the United States remains uncertain. US President Donald Trump has warned of further strikes if Iran resumes its nuclear programme, including uranium enrichment. Tehran has since paused negotiations and maintains that it does not seek to develop nuclear weapons.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday that while it won’t completely end cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog, it does not see the conditions as right for “effective” talks with Washington.
