Tata Motors sees 27% growth in October sales; SUV share rises to record 77%

Tata Motors on Saturday said its domestic sales rose 27 per cent in October on the back of strong demand for SUVs. The company sold 61,134 units during the month which also coincided with festive boom.

The company said its total passenger vehicles registered best-ever monthly sales, with 61,295 units sold in domestic and international markets combined, registering a 27 per cent year-on-year growth from 48,423 units in October 2024.

The company’s SUV portfolio continued to dominate, contributing over 47,000 units and accounting for an all-time high 77 per cent of total monthly sales. Electric vehicle (EV) sales also touched a new peak, with 9,286 units sold, representing a 73 per cent year-on-year growth, reflecting strong consumer response to Tata Motors’ expanding EV line-up.

The Nexon witnessed a surge in demand, recording a 50 per cent jump in volumes, while the Harrier and Safari duo achieved combined sales of 7,000 units, driven by the success of the new Adventure X editions and growing interest in the Harrier.ev.

Tata Motors said October’s festive season saw record retail demand and monthly bookings hitting an all-time high, with over 1 lakh vehicle deliveries made between Navratri and Diwali — a 33 per cent increase over last year’s festive period.
