The automaker highlighted that vehicle registrations, as captured by the Vahan database, grew by more than 50 per cent year-on-year during the month.Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles on Monday reported domestic sales of 59,090 units in May 2026, a 42 per cent increase from 41,557 units sold in the same month last year.
The company said total passenger vehicle sales, including exports, stood at 59,790 units during the month, up 42 per cent from 42,040 units recorded in May 2025. International business sales rose 45 per cent to 700 units from 483 units a year earlier.
Electric vehicle sales emerged as a key growth driver, with combined domestic and export volumes rising 85 per cent year-on-year to a record 10,517 units, compared with 5,685 units in May 2025. The figures include sales from Tata Passenger Electric Mobility.

The strong performance comes amid improving demand for passenger vehicles and continued momentum in the company’s EV portfolio, which includes models such as the Nexon EV, Punch EV, Curvv EV, and Tiago EV.
