Kia India on Monday reported its highest-ever sales for May, with wholesale dispatches increasing 23.6 per cent year-on-year to 27,586 units in May 2026, compared with 22,315 units in the corresponding month last year.
According to the official press release, the performance was supported by sustained demand across its product portfolio, particularly the new Seltos, Sonet, Carens Clavis, Clavis EV and the MY26 Syros.
The company also reported year-to-date sales of 139,197 units during the January-May 2026 period, marking a 14.6 per cent increase over 121,514 units sold during the same period in 2025.
“Our highest-ever May sales performance reflects the strong alignment of our product portfolio with evolving customer preferences across segments,” said Atul Sood, Senior Vice-President, Sales and Marketing, Kia India.
According to the company, the new Seltos has crossed the 10,000-unit monthly sales mark consistently since its launch in January this year. Kia attributed the SUV’s performance to its updated design, technology features and five-star Bharat NCAP safety rating.
The Sonet continued to contribute strongly in the compact SUV segment, aided by the wider availability of automatic transmission options across petrol and diesel variants. The recently introduced MY26 Syros has also witnessed positive customer response, particularly for its revised variant lineup and enhanced accessibility to automatic transmissions.
The company also highlighted its Battery-as-a-Service programme as part of its strategy to improve EV affordability and adoption.
