Rolls-Royce Motor Cars on Monday presented Black Badge Cullinan by Cyril Kongo, a new collaborative project featuring five bespoke Private Commissions with interior surfaces individually hand-painted by the world-renowned multi-disciplinary artist.

All five vehicles follow a common creative theme inspired by Kongo’s vibrant artistic universe, referred to as the “Kongoverse”, but each motor car carries a distinct expression of his work. The commissions were curated through Rolls-Royce Private Offices in New York, Seoul, and the marque’s original Private Office at the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood.

The bespoke creations feature artworks applied to the Starlight Headliner and woodset, reflecting Kongo’s signature style. Rolls-Royce also introduced its first-ever Gradient Coachline, showcasing subtle colour transitions along the exterior.

Kongo’s “tag” motif has been incorporated across multiple elements, including umbrellas, Illuminated Treadplates, and both exterior and interior surfaces.

Rolls-Royce said the project marked an unprecedented collaboration, with Kongo working alongside its Bespoke Collective of designers and craftspeople at the Home of Rolls-Royce.

“At Rolls-Royce, creativity and imagination are the forces that define our brand, shaping motor cars that are as individual as their owners,” said Domagoj Dukec, Director of Design, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.

Artist Cyril Kongo said the project allowed him to create his own interpretation of the Black Badge Cullinan universe. “It was a conversation, using my visual language and Rolls-Royce’s way of making, with the motor car itself as the canvas,” he said.
