Renault Group on Wednesday reported a 9.5 per cent year-on-year (YoY) increase in revenue to €30.25 billion for the first half of 2026, driven by growth in both its automotive business and financial services arm, while confirming its full-year financial guidance despite a challenging global environment.

The French automaker’s net income stood at €721 million for the January-June period, compared with a loss of €11.14 billion a year earlier, when earnings were impacted by changes in the accounting treatment of its Nissan stake.

The group’s operating margin came in at €1.57 billion, representing 5.2 per cent of revenue, compared with 6 per cent in the year-ago period. Automotive operating margin stood at €814 million, or 3 per cent of automotive revenue, while automotive revenue increased 9.3 per cent to €26.81 billion. Revenue from Mobilize Financial Services rose 11 per cent to €3.45 billion.

Electrification, India growth support outlook

Automotive free cash flow reached €653 million, including a €250 million dividend from Mobilize Financial Services, while the automotive net cash financial position stood at €6.57 billion as of June 30. Renault Group said electrified vehicles accounted for 52 per cent of its European sales during the first half, with battery electric vehicle (EV) sales rising 47.6 per cent year-on-year. Hybrid models represented around one-third of the group’s European sales.

Internationally, the company strengthened its presence in key markets, with sales growing 61.2 per cent in India, 15.4 per cent in Türkiye, 13.7 per cent in Morocco, and 5.3 per cent in Brazil.

François Provost, Chief Executive Officer of Renault Group, said the company’s futuREady transformation strategy was beginning to deliver results through new product launches, disciplined cost management and faster engineering execution.

“We achieved our cost targets in the first half and, despite a challenging environment, the strength of our fundamentals enables us to deliver robust profitability and cash while investing in future growth,” Provost said.
