About the trailer

The 3-minute trailer takes viewers to the village where ‘Peddi’, played by Ram Charan, belongs. He is seen as the idol of youngsters in every sport. Bollywood star Boman Irani asks the youngsters who their favourite player is, and they all take only one name ‘Peddi’ no matter what the sport may be, whether cricket, wrestling or running.

Deity for youngsters

“For youngsters, he is not a deity in a temple but a deity on the playground.” The trailer shows Ram Charan as an ace athlete who excels in cricket, wrestling and running. The makers present him in different avatars — as a lean and strong cricket player, and also as a huge, muscular wrestler. He delivers a powerful dialogue: “The game itself is in my arrogance.”Janhvi Kapoor, who plays Achiyyamma in the film, is also introduced, as Ram Charan calls her a “star that fell from the sky.” She is shown as cheerful and warm-hearted, yet also a strong woman.Through cricket and wrestling, Ram Charan’s character fights for his people and the villagers against oppression. The basic crux of the story revolves around powerful people in high positions oppressing villagers.Lastly, Ram Charan delivers a thumping line: “You all think I played, but what I actually did was fight, sir.” His character is shown emotionally helping and leading the people.
