Mercedes-Benz India has strengthened its presence in Uttar Pradesh with the inauguration of a new luxury showroom and a state-of-the-art service facility in Kanpur, marking the company’s debut in the city.
The facilities, operated by Prime Star, are part of Mercedes-Benz’s strategy to expand into emerging growth hubs beyond traditional metros. The Kanpur launch comes as part of the brand’s aggressive network expansion plan, under which it has already added 11 new luxury touchpoints this year, with 12 more scheduled to open before year-end.
The 3,700 sq. ft. Prime Star Kanpur showroom houses the brand’s portfolio, including its ultra-luxury range such as the Mercedes-Maybach and the S-Class. The showroom features an Exclusive Lounge, private delivery bay, bespoke consultation areas and advanced digital interfaces to deliver what the company calls a “benchmark luxury retail experience”.
An ease for users
Complementing the showroom, the 26,000 sq. ft. Prime Star service facility on National Highway 19 offers 19 service bays, including Premier Express Bay capable of servicing vehicles within 60 minutes. The centre is equipped with two 180kW ultra-fast EV chargers, accessible to all electric vehicle owners in the city. Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, said: “Kanpur is an important market for Mercedes-Benz, driven by rapid industrial growth combined with the soaring aspiration of affluent customers. We are confident Prime Star will elevate the aspirations of our customers, delivering the world-famous Mercedes-Benz curated experience.”
Investor Harshit Bajaj of Prime Star added: “After Agra, Prime Star is proud to bring Mercedes-Benz’s world-class luxury experience to Kanpur. The facility blends timeless values with cutting-edge digital innovations, offering customers an immersive journey from sales to aftersales support.”
With the addition of Kanpur, Mercedes-Benz now has over 140 luxury touchpoints across more than 50 cities in India. The company already maintains a strong presence in Uttar Pradesh, with outlets in Lucknow, Agra, Ghaziabad, Faridabad and Noida.
